Kaufmann's Department Store oversized photographs 1900-1996 [picture].

Kaufmann's was founded in 1871 in Birmingham, now Pittsburgh's South Side. They moved to the North Side and then to their present location on Smithfield Street between Fifth and Forbes Avenues. In 1946, they joined the May Company and as of 2003, remain a regional division of May with stores in Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York. The oversized photograph collection includes imges of the buildings, clocks, family, senior board and an unidentified location and store. Many of these photographs are enlargements from the originals in MSP 0371.
